Clash detection and resolution of clashes is a crucial part of the BIM process for any project. Clash detection aids in effectively identifying, inspecting, and reporting interference in a construction project model. With the clash detection the faults that conventionally were detected on the site may involve high cost and delay in schedule. By Using BIM service these conflicts can be resolved even before visiting the site.
We can divide clashes in three categories:
When two or more elements are running through the same space or interfering each other. Then we can consider this as a hard clash.
While placing or running any component or services if not given enough clearances or clearance code is violated. Specially it could be more application for those equipments which need some clearance for installation or maintenance. Then we can consider this as a soft clash.
This not a regular clash between the elements or components. In case of mismatch of information of any component between two different set of document is known as workflow clash.
