About Project:
Oriole delivered a complete architectural model from raw 3D scan data — from start to finish.
The input data consisted of noisy, raw point clouds captured on-site. Despite the heavy noise, we were able to accurately process and align the data and build a highly detailed BIM model.Registered multiple scans into a single coordinate system
Managed overlapping regions and occlusions
Achieved a final registration accuracy of ±5 mm
Type:Building Type:
Residential Scan to BIM
Project Area:
Trades Covered:
Architecture and Structure
Scope of Work:
Walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows.
Modelled interior wall studs, often hidden in traditional scans, to provide detailed framing data.
Maintained high accuracy while ensuring the model stayed clean and efficient for use.
Level of Development:
LOD 400
Project Timeline:
3-4 Weeks
Resources Used:
3-4 Engineers
Challenges Addressed:
Significant scan noise and missing geometry, especially in tight or reflective areas.
Discrepancies between scan data and existing building plans.
Balanced high-detail requirements with model performance.
